Congratulations to this year's Barbershopper of the Year:
JOHN ZIMMERMAN
John has been a member of the Red Rose Chorus for 20 years, most recently serving on the board of directors as vice president of chapter development. John was co-chairman of a very successful cabaret in November. He has sung with several different quartets over the past years and currently sings tenor in the quartet known as '4 PM Curfew'.
John retired after working 41 years with Case New Holland, and has several part-time jobs including driving for Unique Limousine and driving the wheelchair van for Manheim Twp Ambulance. His other interests include classic cars, bowling, and singing with the gospel quartet 'Conestoga Four'. He also sings in the church choir at the Lancaster Church of the Brethren.

The Gerry Roland Memorial Award is the most honored award given to a member who shows exceptional contribution to the chapter.
The recipient of this award are/have:
- Active members of the Red Rose Chapter and be involved in management and sing in a registered quartet
- Involved in the production or coordination of a major singing performance of the Red Rose Chapter
- Participated in the production of, or have submitted articles for the Red Rose Rag
- Participated in activities/committees at the division/district level
- Superior attendance at rehearsals, performances, and competitions involving the chapter
